Here at FCMG we’ve had the pleasure of opening two new exhibitions: Shopkeepers and Marikit Santiago’s We Eat This Bread.

Shopkeepers is a historical celebration of Fairfield City’s drapers, bakers, barbers and butchers. The exhibition spotlights our city’s local entrepreneurs, iconic businesses and grocers which helped establish us to be the thriving community we are today!

Marikit Santiago’s We Eat This Bread showcases a series of works that explore The Last Supper; extending the story to consider the rituals, traditions, and structures that shape the artist's cultural and social identities. The exhibition heralds the artist's first solo show in western Sydney.

Both exhibitions were welcomed with a launch party, Shopkeepers opened on October 22nd with many of the local business owners and family members in attendance, and We Eat This Bread launched on the 12th of November to over 100 guests, lots of Filipino food and live music!

Shopkeepers will be in our exhibition space until the 15th of April, 2023 - find out more here.

Marikit Santiago’s We Eat This Bread will be in our Stein Gallery until the 1st of April 2023 - find out more here.

Come visit these two wonderful exhibitions!
