Marikit Santiago 'We Eat This Bread'

Marikit Santiago's first solo exhibition in Western Sydney, We Eat This Bread showcased a series of works that explore The Last Supper extending the story to consider the rituals, traditions and structures that shape the artist's cultural and social identities.*

Bread & Bayanihan

A community event celebrating Filipino culture hosted on Monday, 27 February 2023 included a panel discussion hosted by Bayanihan Sydney, Altar Conversations with Marikit Santiago where guests were invited to contribute to Santiago's collaborative installation piece 'The Altar' (2022), a basketball demonstration and competition with Embers Basketball, and Baybayin Ancient Script drop-in sessions.

Huling Hapunan

The exhibition's closing event held on Saturday, 1 April 2023 featured a live performance by DOBBY, Barkaa, and L-FRESH the LION, an artist conversation between Marikit Santiago and writer June Miskell, Baybayin Ancient Script drop-in sessions and Filipino catering by Mummy Inday's Catering.
